Elegant architecture and organic forms

Tobi is the collection of sofas designed by Elena Trevisan. Conceived to cover any space requirement, it’s available in three sizes: 3, 2 and 1 and a half seats. Enticing in classic settings, perfect in modern environments, ideal at home as it is in hotel lounges and public spaces, as well as in the office: Tobi has a structure in multilayer and solid wood, with elastic belts on the seat, a padding in differentiated-density polyurethane foam and solid wood legs.

Elena Trevisan - Designer

“In Japan, the tea ceremony is a real social and spiritual ritual, at the basis of which there is harmony with nature. The tea house is reached by following a path (roji) that leads to both the place and the contemplative dimension required for the tea ceremony. The stones that trace this path are called tobi-ishi, literally meaning “floating stones” and their irregular arrangement slows down the pace, marking and emphasising a gradual departure from the everyday world. Tobi incorporates the curvilinear shape of tobi-ishi stones as well as their essence. I specifically designed Tobi as a small architecture suspended on point-like elements that seems to float in the surrounding space. Each element contributes to complete the image: for example, with its comfortable form the seat brings you back to that state of calm, wellbeing, and detachment from everyday life that the tea ceremony induces”.
